Disposable IV Administration Infusion Set with Needle
A disposable infusion set is a medical device used to administer fluids, medications, or nutrients directly into a patient’s bloodstream. It is commonly used in hospitals, clinics, and home healthcare settings for intravenous (IV) therapy.
Intravenous fluid infusion set to infuse drugs/fluids from IV solution bags to. IV catheters in use. Sharp, spike for easy insertion.
The iv Infusion Set is used for vein transfusion under the influence of gravity, mainly for intravenous therapy. Intravenous therapy may be used to correct electrolyte imbalances, to deliver medications, for blood transfusion or as fluid replacement to correct, for example, dehydration. Intravenous therapy can also be used for chemotherapy. Mainly used in combination with intravenous infused substances.
A disposable infusion set typically consists of the following key parts:
IV Needle: Connects to the vein and is usually made of stainless steel. It comes with a protective cover to prevent contamination and injury.
Drip Chamber: Made from transparent materials (commonly PVC or DEHP-free plastic), it allows the observation of fluid flow rate and any bubbles.
Filter: Positioned near the drip chamber or flow regulator, it filters out microparticles, air bubbles, and impurities to reduce adverse reactions during infusion.
Infusion Tube: Typically made of medical-grade PVC, this tube features excellent elasticity and toughness. Its length is generally between 1.2 m and 1.5 m, ensuring smooth fluid delivery.
Flow Regulator (Roller Clamp): Used to adjust the infusion rate; available in both roller and screw types.
Injection Port (Y-site): Allows connection with a syringe for drug injection, usually made from silicone or PVC.
Terminal Connector (Luer Connector): Connects with a venous catheter or needle, offering a standard interface that is compatible with various infusion devices.
