Disposable PVC Gastric Decompression Stomach Drain Tube
The Disposable PVC Stomach Tube is a sterile, single-use medical device used for gastric decompression, feeding, medication delivery, and drainage of gastric contents. Manufactured from high-quality, medical-grade polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the tube provides a cost-effective and reliable solution for short- to medium-term gastrointestinal access in both adult and pediatric patients.
Features:
Material: Transparent, medical-grade PVC that is non-toxic, non-irritant, and DEHP-free (optional). Ensures visibility of fluid content and patient safety.
Atraumatic Tip: Smooth, closed rounded tip minimizes mucosal trauma and allows for easy insertion.
Side Eyes: Multiple lateral eyes near the distal end enable effective drainage and reduce the risk of clogging.
Radiopaque Line: A built-in radiopaque strip allows for clear X-ray visualization to verify correct positioning within the stomach.
Color-Coded Funnel Connector: Facilitates easy identification of tube size and provides a secure fit with syringes or feeding/suction equipment.
Graduation Marks (Optional): Helps monitor insertion depth and position.
Sterile Packaging: Individually packed in peelable, medical-grade paper-plastic pouches to maintain sterility and hygiene.
Latex-Free: Safe for use in patients with latex allergies.

How to Use the Disposable PVC Stomach Tube?
Step 1: Preparation
Ensure all necessary equipment and materials are prepared, including the Disposable PVC Stomach Tube, lubricant, sterile gloves, disinfectant, tourniquet, mask, suction device, or feeding device (as needed).
Carefully check the packaging of the stomach tube to ensure it is intact, designed for single use, and sterilized.
Step 2: Disinfect and Prepare the Patient
Have the patient wear a mask and ensure they are comfortable and aware of the procedure.
Use disinfectant (such as iodine or alcohol swabs) to clean the patient's nostrils, mouth area, and the nasal-pharyngeal region.
Position the patient with their head slightly tilted back to facilitate smooth insertion of the stomach tube.
Step 3: Inserting the Stomach Tube
Put on sterile gloves, remove the stomach tube from its packaging, and check its length and the integrity of the side eyes.
Apply a generous amount of lubricant to the insertion end of the stomach tube to reduce friction during insertion.
Slowly and gently insert the stomach tube through the patient’s nostril or mouth until the desired depth is reached. Ensure the insertion is smooth and avoid applying excessive force to prevent injury.
If resistance is encountered during insertion, pause and adjust to avoid forceful insertion.
Step 4: Confirm Tube Placement
After insertion, confirm the correct placement of the stomach tube in the stomach through X-ray or another suitable method (such as injecting air and auscultating).
If using a radiopaque stomach tube, an X-ray can be used to verify the tube’s position.
Step 5: Secure the Stomach Tube
Use transparent adhesive strips or tape to securely fix the stomach tube in place at the patient’s nostrils or mouth to prevent it from slipping out.
Ensure the end of the tube is not deformed or obstructed by pulling on it.
Step 6: Using the Stomach Tube
Depending on clinical requirements, connect the stomach tube to a suction device, feeding system, or medication delivery system.
If the tube is used for suctioning gastric contents, ensure the suction device is properly adjusted to avoid excessive negative pressure.
For feeding or medication administration, ensure that the food or medication is at an appropriate temperature and can be delivered smoothly through the stomach tube.
Step 7: Monitoring and Care
Regularly check the stomach tube for patency and prevent blockages. You can verify patency by aspirating a small amount of gastric contents or flushing the tube.
Monitor the patient for any discomfort, such as vomiting, coughing, or tube displacement. If any abnormal signs occur, stop using the tube and reassess its position.
Step 8: Removing the Stomach Tube
When it is necessary to remove the stomach tube, first confirm the physician's instructions.
Put on sterile gloves and carefully remove the stomach tube. Ensure the process is comfortable for the patient.
Dispose of the used tube according to hospital waste disposal protocols.
