Instructions for Use:
Preparation: Ensure that the intended area is clean and dry.
Size Selection: Choose the appropriate size of the Plaster of Paris (POP) Bandage based on the specific application. If a larger size is needed, multiple bandages can be joined together.
Prepare Water Basin: Prepare a shallow water basin and fill it with enough clean water. The water temperature should not be too hot to avoid scalding the patient's skin.
Wetting the Bandage: Fully immerse the POP Bandage in water, making sure it is thoroughly wet, but not overly soaked to affect the setting process.
Squeeze Out Excess Water: Remove the wet bandage from the water basin and gently squeeze out excess water, keeping the bandage damp.
Start Wrapping: Gently wrap the damp bandage around the intended area on the patient. Apply the bandage with appropriate pressure to ensure it adheres well to the patient's skin but avoid wrapping too tightly to maintain proper blood circulation.
Shaping and Molding: Shape and mold the bandage according to the patient's needs, ensuring it fits well and provides effective support and immobilization.
Setting Time: Depending on the type of POP Bandage used and its setting time, wait for the bandage to fully set. The setting time may vary between 2-5 minutes, 4-8 minutes, or 8-12 minutes, depending on the chosen bandage type.
Monitoring: During the setting period, monitor the patient's response and comfort level. Ensure that the patient does not experience any adverse reactions or discomfort.
Removing Excess Bandage: Once the bandage is fully set, carefully trim any excess bandage. Take care while cutting to avoid injuring the patient's skin.
Precautions: After using the bandage, closely observe the patient's symptoms and progress. If any discomfort or unusual conditions arise, promptly consult a doctor or healthcare professional.
