Instruction for Use:
1. Preparation
- Sterilize the wound area and assemble the necessary tools.
- Choose the appropriate size of Penrose tube that fits the wound area.
2. Placement
- Take out the Penrose drain from sterilized packing, insert one end of the tube into the wound or cavity, keep drainage unobstructed, and secure the external end using sutures or adhesive tape to prevent dislodgement.
- Cover the external end with sterile gauze or a dressing to collect the draining fluid.
3. Post-insertion Care
- Regularly check the drainage volume, type of fluid, and condition of the surrounding tissue.
- Change dressings as needed to maintain cleanliness and prevent infection.
4. Removal
- Gently remove the Penrose tube after drainage, or removing it according to the healthcare professional's advice.
- Clean the wound and ensure it is healing appropriately.
Precautions:
1. This product contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions.
2. Avoid petroleum-based lubricant use.
3. The users shall be trained medical personnel.
4. This product is for single use only, and re-use or re-sterilization is not allowed.
5. Use immediately after unpacking and discard after use.
