Absorbable Chromic Catgut Suture for Surgical Use

Product Description

Absorbable Chromic Catgut Suture for Surgical Use

Chromic Catgut Suture is a twisted multifilament structure with a monofilament appearance. It is a natural surgical gut suture made by twisting together strands of collagenous material taken from the submucosal layers of the small intestine of healthy sheep and goats.

The chromic catgut is processed to provide higher resistance to absorption and treated with chromic salts to delay absorption. Chromic catgut is sterile and elicit only a minimal tissue reaction during absorption. In-house needle manufacturing provides better needles with optimum sharpness, which finally delivers smooth riding on tissue during suturing.

Chromic Catgut Suture is a naturally absorbable surgical suture that is absorbed by a simple enzymatic mechanism, and absorption is not as predictable as in synthetic sutures. Chromic catgut tend to absorb faster in affected tissues. UNIGUT suture initial tensile strength is lost within 14 to 21 days and is absorbed completely in 90 to 120 days. It is non-adhering and biologically inert.

Best use for general closure, obstetrics/gynecology, and gastro-intestinal tract surgery.

Ultimate Suture for Fast Healing Tissue and Muscles, Soft Tissue Approximation.

Catgut sutures meet all the requirements established by the United States Pharmacopoeia for natural absorbable surgical sutures.
