The catheter is usually changed once a month and the urine bag needs to be changed once or twice a week. Remove the catheter on time. Surgical catheterization is usually removed 1-2 days after surgery for urinary retention, and catheterization is usually removed after 3-5 days. Let the patient usually drink more water, clip and open the catheter regularly, and train the bladder function.
3) Precautions for the use of urine bags
1. Keep the drainage flowing smoothly. Avoid pressure, twisting and blockage of the catheter.
2. Prevent retrograde infection. Keep the urethral orifice clean, clean the urethral orifice with 0.1% Neosporin solution twice a day, change the urine collection bag regularly every day, record the volume of urine, change the catheter once a week, no matter when, the drainage tube and urine collection bag should not be higher than the pubic symphysis, avoid urine reflux.
3. Encourage the patient to drink more water, change the lying position frequently, and perform bladder flushing promptly if urine is found to be cloudy, precipitated or crystallized. Check urine routine once a week.
4. Train bladder function. Intermittent blocked drainage can be used to fill and empty the bladder regularly and promote the recovery of bladder function.
5. When the patient leaves the bed for activity or examination, he can go with the urine bags. The method: fix the catheter in the lower abdomen; keep the urine bag below the pubic symphysis. The catheter can also be separated from the urine bag, and the end of the catheter can be wrapped with sterile gauze and folded back with adhesive tape and fixed to the lower abdomen; the open end of the urine bag can be wrapped with sterile gauze or set into a sterile test tube and fixed to the bed sheet. When the patient is lying in bed, the open ends of the two tubes are routinely disinfected and then connected.
