Functions:

The HMEF captures the patient’s exhaled heat and moisture and uses it to warm and humidify the incoming dry, cold medical gases. This process helps prevent drying of the respiratory mucosa, maintaining mucociliary function and reducing the risk of airway damage.

2.Filtration:
